Bumpdate: Week 26!
October 14th ~ October 20th
With my "mommy" sized pumpkin! |
How far along? Currently, 27 weeks
Size of the little miss? At 26 weeks, baby is about 9.25 inches from head to bottom, and 13 or 14 inches from head to toe. She weighs just about 2 pounds.
Maternity Clothes? Definitely! I continue to wear all maternity bottoms (with the exception of a few pairs of stretchy yoga pants and pajama pants) with a mixture of maternity and non-maternity tops.
Stretch Marks? Still nothing! I apply my regular body lotion in the morning and belly butter at night. I'm confidant that this helps keep my skin soft and hydrated, but I know that stretch marks (or lack thereof) are mostly due to genetic factors.
Gender? Baby Knox is a sweet baby girl!
Movement? Still feeling consistent movement throughout the day. It's mostly down low in my pelvis during the day, but when I lie down at night she must re-position, because I get kicks way up high and in the side.
Sleep? Still so-so.
Exercise? I continue to fit in at least 2 workouts per week; sometimes 3.
Food Cravings? Still nothing intense enough that I would call a craving, but I really need to cut back on the sugar intake! I've been allowing myself a sweet treat almost daily and it needs to stop! Sugar is just empty meaningless calories for baby girl; I need to make more of an effort to replace my "dessert" with some fruit or yogurt that will fill some nutritional needs for the little one!
What I Miss? A glass of wine in the evening :)
Symptoms? I think I may have experienced a couple of Braxton Hicks contractions this week. I'm not entirely sure; they don't hurt at all, but my stomach tightens up and gets hard as a rock. From what I've read it sounds like Braxton Hicks but it's so hard to know when you have nothing to compare it to! My biggest symptom has been persistent back and hip pain. I now have quite a bit of discomfort in the right side of back (below my shoulder blade) no matter how I sit or stand. I'm hoping to talk about it with my doctor next week and am wondering if I may need to consult with a chiropractor to get some relief.
Belly Button In or Out? In...but it's really getting close to flat! I think in a few weeks it will be totally flattened out.
Wedding Rings On or Off? Still on with no more swelling; drinking lots of water!
Our family of pumpkins! |
What went on this Week? It was only a four-day work week thanks to the holiday weekend, and I was oh-so-thankful! The work week was the same as usual, but we packed in some fun things this weekend! On Saturday, I spent the morning working with a regular client of mine (I do some per diem speech therapy work on the side) and then George and I headed to Gaughan's Farm to pick up some fall decor. We found a "family" of pumpkins for our porch this year - a mommy pumpkin, a daddy pumpkin, and a tiny baby pumpkin! We spent Saturday evening at the Rotary Club Dinner with our friends Jacquie and Garrett - and they were big winners in the cash draw! Our lazy Sunday was spent doing laundry, chores, working on some reports for work, and watching a couple of movies. We spent the evening enjoying pizza and wings with James and Melissa, and then played a few rounds of cards.
