Bumpdate: 14 Weeks!
July 22 ~ July 28 (week 14)
14 weeks, 4 days |
How far along? Today (7/28/13) is 14 weeks, 6 days!
Size of the little darling? At 14 weeks, baby is the size of a lemon -- about 3.4 inches and weighing in at around 1.5 ounces
Maternity Clothes? Still mainly wearing my normal clothes, but they are starting to get pretty tight! I have invested in a few tops and 2 pairs of cropped maternity pants, but I really need to go on a little shopping trip before school starts again to stock up on some maternity jeans, a few work pants, and some more basic tops that I can rotate through the work-week.
Stretch Marks? None so far; I have been using both regular lotion and cocoa butter stretch mark "belly butter" but I do know that it's more about genetics than lotions and creams; we will have to see!
Gender? We don't know yet! My next regular appointment is August 12 (when I will be 17 weeks); we are supposed to schedule the anatomy scan while we're there!
Movement? Nothing yet; I've read that women generally start to feel "flutters" between 16 and 20 weeks, so I probably have a couple more weeks before I'll be aware of anything.
Sleep? Hasn't been great; I've officially stopped sleeping on my stomach and it has been a rough adjustment. I wake up all. night. long. trying to get into a comfortable position. I did purchase a few extra pillows to use to help position myself better on my side (I just couldn't justify buying a "maternity body pillow" for 70 dollars!), but so far I just feel like I'm not getting a restful night's sleep.
Exercise? Slowly easing my way back into regular exercise now that some of my energy has returned. This week:
Monday - 45-minute "The Firm" cardio/strength workout
Wednesday - 60-minute Prenatal Yoga workout
Sunday - Went on a walk with the hubby
Next week I'd like to fit in at least 4 days, but 3 days of exercise is better than none!
Food Cravings? Still haven't had anything I would really call a craving. I've definitely been enjoying sweets (in moderation), but I've always had a sweet tooth, so I really don't think that is pregnancy-related. Nothing too crazy or out-of-the-ordinary.
What I Miss? Clear skin! Very early in the first trimester I began experiencing pretty serious breakouts, and it has continued with no end in sight. I'm not able to use my regular face wash or acne treatments (most ingredients are not safe when pregnant), so I'm stuck with just washing my face with a gentle soap and relying on some all-natural "home remedies".
Symptoms? Some continued headaches, sharp round ligament pains when I move too quickly from one position to another, and acne.
Best Moment of the Week? Receiving our first package addressed to "Baby Knox"! Our sweet friends Hilary and Mike (and cutie pie daughter, Natalie) sent us an adorable care package for our little one.
George really wanted in on the belly-shot action, too!
Hahahaha love the pic of George!! We found out Mason was a boy at 18 weeks! Maybe you can find out sooner :)
